GT Care has a day opportunities facility which operates Mon-Sun from 07:30am – 23:00pm
The service is provided 362 days a year including weekends and public holidays.
We do not include Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
The facility is an easily accessible resource centre for all levels of mobility and has an activity based space for all types of creative activity, advocacy, and music making along with separate rooms for sensory interaction, relaxation and a kitchen for developing cooking and baking skills.
GT Care is involved with a local drama group that is held in a local church hall, providing activities for health and wellbeing throughout the morning and afternoon with lunch in between.
Individuals have the opportunity to participate in games and activities which stimulate motor skills/co-ordination/team building/character development/focus and attention and much more. Members of this group have the opportunity to perform in an annual production.
GT Care strives as an organisation to create an opportunity – whether it’s something we already offer or something entirely new.
Our person centred day opportunity services are designed to fit around the individual and to directly encourage each service user to take part in their community, learn a new hobby/skill or meet up with friends.
All service user’s have personal needs and preferences and support workers are encouraged to provide empowering, person centred activities for each client. Support workers will confidently create access to any community based activity promoting an individual to do the things they enjoy.
We also help with inclusive employment and can support individuals to secure work within the community. Wherever possible we recruit and allocate support workers specifically for an individual’s needs or wishes.
