GT Care defines Community Based Support as ‘enabling individuals to be as independent as possible while living a full and meaningful life’ Some individuals need support to live in their own home, GT Care provides a number of empowering personal services to support with social inclusion and social interaction.
Many people are happy and safe living in their own homes with friends or family and this is something we help to maintain especially during times of illness or difficulty.
As an experienced care company we help clients stay in their residence and become involved in the community. GT Care aims to provide assistance to enable clients to lead their lives to their full capacity. By providing domestic and personal support we ensure the client is able to maintain their independence at home.
Our support workers are able to carry out a wide range of domestic tasks, including:
- General housework e.g. vacuuming, dusting, polishing, mopping floors, cleaning cupboards and changing bed linen
- Weekly shopping – escorting individuals to, and assisting them at, the shops
- Escorting an individual on social outings – to shopping centres for clothes and other general household items or to hospital and GP appointments as well as other types of social outing
- Benefit collection and/or assistance with job centre correspondence
- Collecting prescriptions from your GP or chemist
- Laundry – either within your own home or taking it to the laundrette or dry cleaners
We will always encourage an individual to take pride in their home and encourage independence, ownership and belonging where and when it is necessary.
